Dr Bhaskar Ramamurthi
Professor of Electrical Engg. & Director of IIT Madras

Prof Ramamurthi received his B.Tech in Electronic and Electrical Engg from IIT Madras in 1980, and his MS and PhD  from University of California, Santa Barbara, USA in 1982 and 1985 respectively. After working at AT&T Bell Laboratories for a couple of years, he joined IITM as a faculty in 1986. He took over as Director, IITM in September 2011.

Dr Ashok Jhunjhunwala

A well-known figure in India’s scientific community, Padma Shree Ashok Jhunjhunwala leads the Telecommunications and Computer Networks group, which has been IITM’s informal technology incubator launching over 35 companies in the last two decades. He was later instrumental in setting up a society for the incubation of rural technologies and businesses – the Rural Technology & Business Incubator (RTBI), and IIT Madras Research Park. He currently leads IITM's Centre for Battery Engg. & EVs. He was the former principal advisor to Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.

Dr Sujatha Srinivasan  
Professor of Mechanical Engg., IIT Madras

Sujatha heads the TTK Center for Rehabilitation Research and Device Development (R2D2) at IIT Madras. Her research focuses on applying mechanism design and movement biomechanics to develop functional and affordable assistive/rehabilitation devices for people with movement disability. She has nearly 30 years of experience in her field including 8 years in the US industry. She is a 1992 alumna of IIT Madras and joined its faculty in 2008. She is also co-founder of NeoMotion, a startup on assistive devices, incubated at IIT Madras. I.

Mohandas Pai is a Padma Shri Awardee and former CFO & Board Member at Infosys. He is also the co-founder of Akshaya Patra, the world's largest midday meal program, and works actively with government and regulators on policy recommendations and guidelines. Mohan has served as the Chairman of the Board of SEBI, and is now a Board Member of the National Stock Exchange in India. He is one of India's most prolific angel investors. He also leads a private equity fund - Aarin Capital - that invests in life sciences & education companies, including Byju's, Counsyl, ZoomCar, Praxify, YourStory & Licious.

Dr R Ramaraj 
Co-founder & former CEO, Sify | Director, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park

Dr. Ramaraj, alumnus of IIM Calcutta, had done his B.Tech (Chem Engg) from Univ of Madras & Ph.D. from SRM University. As a serial entrepreneur he has been involved in ventures in IT & Internet industries. He co-founded Microland, India’s first networking company, and was also co-founder CEO of Sify which, under his stewardship, became the first Indian Internet company to list on NASDAQ National Market in the US. He later served as a Senior Advisor at Sequoia Capital, and is currently in a similar position at Elevar Equity. His early career included stints at Jagatjit Industries, Berger Paints, and Johnson & Johnson.

Raju Venkataraman

A first generation serial entrepreneur, an alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad, his 24 year track record speaks volumes of his ability to envisage, build and scale a business. He was the force behind organizations such as Firstsource, RevIT, Lason Inc, VetriSystems Inc. and EDS. He is currently the Founder Chairman and CEO of Medall, which has grown to 1700 people with over 120 MD radiologists and pathologists. Medall is already India's largest Radiology services company and is the 4th largest Diagnostics services company in India. Mr.Raju has won several accolades and awards including American Dreamers Award, India Today's top 10 fastest growing companies, Business India's top 100 entrepreneurs from India, Serial entrepreneur award from TIE and TN Government.

V Shankar is an alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta. Active in Nondestructive Evaluation research for more than 25 years, he has served as a consultant to multinational companies including GE, Corning Inc., BF Goodrich, Gillette, Caterpillar, Lockheed-Martin, Nippon TV. He is currently the PI in sponsored research projects funded by DST, DAE, ADA, ISRO and DRDO organizations. He serves on Editorial Board of Ultrasonics and edits the ISNT Journal for NDE. Prof. Krishnan has co-founded 4 deep-tech startup companies (Dhvani Research, Detect Tech, Planys Technologies and Solinas), and advisor/mentor to several startups.

Dr Ravindra Gettu 
Professor of Civil Engg., Dean of Centre for Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research (IC&SR), IIT Madras 

After completing his PhD degree from Northwestern University (USA) in 1990, he was the Director of the Structural Technology Laboratory of the Technical University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain, until 2004. He has co-authored more than 400 scientific and technical publications in the areas of concrete technology, effective use of admixtures, self compacting concrete, and fibre reinforced concrete. He is active in RILEM, the International Association of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Structures and Systems, based in France and in the Indian Concrete Institute. He has consulted for many leading construction materials manufacturers and projects. He has taught this course for the past 10 years at IITM, along with Concrete Technology.

Dr Ligy Philip

Prof. Ligy's research interests include water and wastewater treatment, rural water supply, sanitation and bioremediation. Her research focuses on sustainable technology development for recycling and reusing domestic and industrial wastewaters and resource recovery from the sludge. She is the area co-coordinator for waste management of Indo-German centre for sustainability (IGCS).
